Today Milat Winery launched a new look to a long established web presence "Portrait of a family owned winery." (www.milat.com) Milat was one of the first Napa Valley wineries to adopt a web presence (1999) and today launched a new look and added functionality to their website. Using the CMS tools from ®MediaBend.com and creative positioning and style from Huffman Communications (hcnapa.com), the refreshed, feature rich, website allows Milat to edit all of their content. "We can edit everything, it's awesome", say Joyce Milat. “We can add wines through the admin and the wines display on the wines page, the shopping cart and all of the trade tools used by our distributors. Add it once and all the other pages follow".
Through the ®MediaBend online tools, Milat is able to add content to the site using a WYSIWYG ("what you see is what you get") editor tool coupled with ®MediaBend’s easy to navigate web interface. MediaBend tools are broken up by function so customers can choose the functionality they want for their site. The owners of Milat Winery wanted to add, edit and remove pages through out the site so they started with MBContent. From their they installed MBNews for managing press and new release information; MBRecipes (new) for adding and editing recipes which can be paired with wine; MBShopper is a shopping cart environment specifically designed for wine sales with a compliance component for specifying shipping states etc.; and finally MBDistributor will be used to manage the state-by-state distributors. As the site matures, they will be able to keep content fresh and engaging for their customers.
